Stockton Divers

Stockton Divers have been active in training members in the sport of SCUBA diving for 30 years. The club is based at the River Tees Watersports Centre and pool training is held at the Thornaby swimming pool.

The club is extremely active with diving activities held in the UK and throughout the world, in addition the club holds many social and family orientated activities not remotely connected with diving.

The club is affiliated to the British Sub-Aqua club (BSAC 1217) and the Sub-Aqua association (SAA 984)  in 2006 and 2007 the club was awarded UK club of the year.

We are a divers club, welcoming members from all organisations including: - Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), Scottish Sub-Aqua Association (SCOTSAC), Scuba Schools international (SSI) and we are a member of the Confederation Mondiale Des Activities Subaquauatiques (CMAS).

Training takes place on Thursday nights, meeting at Thornaby Pool at 7.30 pm in the front foyer. Training is available to all levels, starting with full SCUBA training at the age of 14. After the pool sessions we meet at River Tees Water Sports Centre around 9.00pm, where our members meet for lectures and a social evening.

Stockton Divers are a well equipped club having at our disposal, the use of our two 5.5 meter RIBS both fitted with latest safety, navigation and wreck finding equipment. Both RIBS are now fitted with the latest GMDSS radio technology. At the training pool all equipment is available for basic training.

If you are interested but not sure how you will take to it we hold try dive sessions every Thursday.
